I’m writing this seated in a crowded and stuffy airplane, currently waiting for it to finish boarding. For the last 16 days I’ve been adventuring around Paris, which has been a remarkable trip, and I’ll share a big takeaway I had with a longer newsletter next Monday. The first is how inspiring the trip has been, especially in meeting friends and new acquaintances, and having really meaningful conversations about life, creativity, and what the future looks like. A result from these chats has been coming to a realization that I need a fresh start (because moving to a new country wasn’t enough lol). More specifically, I’ve become passionate about starting something new, akin to a creative studio, in which to form projects under. So instead of simply starting a cafe out of the blue I’d begin other smaller endeavors that can serve as a metaphorical amuse-bouche. Lots more thoughts here, but something to mull over for your own life, perhaps?

Since it’s the first of May, I’m excited to share a new episode of OÍR. This month’s mix went through quite a lot of permutations, which at this point I shouldn’t be surprised, yet somehow I am. My first try was doing something around French Touch, Daft Punk and DJ Falcon and Alexa Brakke, but I’m not a good DJ and I’m shit at mixing tracks together. Then I tried to do something more poppy and vibrant inspired by the weather, yet again it wasn’t feeling right. So instead I've put something that feels like it scratches the inside of my brain. I guess you’d could bucket it under ambient but it’s not giving Music for Airports, it’s more like a sonic landscape, which is also a silly way to describe it. I listened to it while I walked around the streets of Paris and it felt like it matched the environment: busy but soothing, always interesting and never ending.
