I bought an iPod dock with speaker for a few bucks at a thrift store a couple of years ago. My iPod classic still works but the aux is busted, so this was the best way to listen to its contents. A time machine, the soundtrack to my life in the years between 2007 and 2012, when I was in college and starting my career and spending many hours on trains.
The Kitsune Noir ‘Sunshine Sometime’ mix has been my favourite to start the day with. My kitties even respond to it, knowing it means breakfast time!
Its so magical to only be able to listen to it in my kitchen, as my iPod is no longer portable and I don’t have a copy of its contents anywhere else, and your mix is obviously not something I can look up on Spotify.
As an elder millennial I appreciate things that are enjoyable in specific locations or situations, and am nostalgic for the days you knew exactly where the person you were IM-ing with was sitting. Like my version of the hallway family phone or listening to vinyl records. So that iPod and your mix really scratch that itch for me. And it is so beautiful.
Only recently I figured I would google Kitsune Noir to see if you are still out there, making mixes. And here you are. Thank you for making it then and for still making things. You are a true artist to me ❤️
